The importance that Sikhs attach to working for and wishing well to others can be seen in the fact that a Sikh prays aloud at least twice a day: 'O God, in Your Name shower Your blessings on everyone.' In other words, Sikhs pray not only for themselves but also for the whole brotherhood of humanity.

It has been explained that Sikhs must respect all people. They may appear different because of their language, colour, figure, social habits but these variations are superficial and the result of different cultures and climates in which one is born and reared. Internally, we all have the same spirit. Just as gold can be made into ornaments of different designs but it remains gold, so people's outward appearance can be different but still they remain human beings created by the same God.

Gurseva delivers langar to refugees and others who are in need. The project has mainly been operating in West London with the assistance of the local community centres there.

The refugee one stop service is one place Gurseva takes surplus food and clothing.

Food and other items are donated free to Gurseva who then recycle them

Volunteers make hot food for about 100 people at community centres then transport it to homeless people, refugees or other needy people.
