• critical thinking,
• active learning
• Project Management
• Leadership
• Creativity/Innovation
• Action Planning,
• Decision Making
• Oral/Visual Presentations
• Active Listening
• Information Skills
• Groupwork/Teamwork
• self-management skills and
• the ability to work with others. • Interview skills
This project was fully supported by Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall and the workshops themselves took place at Norwood Green Hall (recently acquired by SGSSS) every Saturday morning from 11 am till 12:30pm . These were free workshops and were completely open to all. As the seminars themselves were in English the majority of attendees were youngsters between the ages of 11-22 although some attendees were parents and older. In fact one memorable workshop on project management was done in dual language so that the resident giani could understand it as well. Armed with his newly acquired project management skills he was greatly appreciative to all the organisers and the lecturers. Key to these workshops was having excellent speakers present who were more than capable of delivering such topics. Over the 10 weeks we had Dr Savi Sing Arora MBA from Knowledge Hemispheres, Vijay Singh a Business Studies lecturer from Uxbridge College, Hardeep Singh of Ethnic Confusion Britain and expert in marketing and media and Dr Satinder Singh Key Skills lecturer at West London College to name but a few. It is hoped that the series of events will be repeated in the Summer of 2008. For further information or to register interest for the next series please contact us
